Stucco FAQ

Three-coat stucco is the traditional method: a mesh base, then a scratch coat, a brown coat and a finish coat made from Portland cement, lime and sand. One-coat stucco replaces the scratch coat with foam board, which adds insulation and shortens installation time.

EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finishing System) is a multi-layer cladding with a water-resistant base coat, insulation boards, a reinforced base and an acrylic finish. It insulates well and comes in many colors and textures.

Cracks usually come from the building settling or from direct damage to the surface. If water gets into the cracks it can damage the wall behind, so we repair them and waterproof the stucco to keep moisture out.

Delamination is when stucco layers separate from each other or from the wall, usually because of poor installation or moisture. We remove the loose sections, fix the cause and restore a solid, even surface.

We offer cement and acrylic finishes in a range of textures and colors, for new stucco, stucco siding and repairs.
