Hardscaping FAQ

Hardscaping covers the built, non-planted parts of an outdoor space: patios, walkways, driveways, steps and walls made of pavers, stone, brick or concrete. Done well, it gives you level, usable space that needs little upkeep.

Pavers come in many colors and patterns and can be lifted and replaced one at a time if one cracks or settles. Poured concrete is a single slab that costs less up front but is harder to repair invisibly. We help you weigh both for your space and budget.

Most patio problems such as sinking, rocking pavers or puddles start below the surface. We excavate, then build and compact a gravel base with a slight slope away from your home, so the finished surface stays level and drains properly.
